What is general anaesthetic surgery?

General anaesthetic (GA) is a type of anaesthesia that puts you into a controlled, deep sleep for the duration of your procedure. You feel no pain, have no awareness of the surgery, and wake up once it is complete. GA is used for longer, more complex procedures where local anaesthetic alone would not be sufficient to keep you comfortable throughout.

At Signature Clinic, our GA procedures are performed by GMC-registered surgeons at dedicated, fully regulated surgical facilities, separate from our standard clinic locations, equipped to perform procedures under general anaesthetic safely and effectively.
