What is Menopause?

Oestrogen and progesterone are key hormones for maintaining hair growth. When their levels drop during menopause, it causes an imbalance that leads to thinning and slower hair growth.

Dry Skin

One of the earliest symptoms women experience is dry skin. This can present itself in the form of tightness, itchiness, irritation, dullness, and . Oestrogen plays a major role in skin by regulating oil production and preventing transepidermal water loss, which helps keep the skin barrier intact. As oestrogen levels plummet, the skin is unable to retain moisture as efficiently. 

Skin boosters use naturally-occuring substances such as Hyaluronic Acid to restore hydration levels in a non-invasive manner. At EF MEDISPA, we offer a range of different booster treatments including Profhilo, Sisthaema Hevo-T, and Polynucleotides. The first two incorporate Hyaluronic Acid, and the latter uses nucleotides.
